A program of the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas at The University of Texas at Austin and the Moody College of Communication’s School of Journalism and Media
The International Symposium on Online Journalism is an annual gathering of editors, producers, executives and academics from around the world who convene at the University of Texas at Austin to discuss the evolution of online journalism.
ISOJ started in 1999 as a small, but very intense one-day conference. It has grown throughout the years to become a unique international conference that serves as a barometer for the state of online journalism globally.
For the second time in its 22-year history, the International Symposium on Online Journalism will be online only in 2021. ISOJ Online will be held during the week of April 26 to 30, 2021.
The Public Media Alliance, in partnership with the Association for International Broadcasters (AIB) and supported by the Al Jazeera Media Network (AJMN), is bringing together the international media industry in an online symposium that will explore ways to improve and better cover media freedom issues worldwide.
We are also inviting journalists, editors, producers and other media workers among news organisations worldwide to take part in a survey that will help to inform the symposium. You can complete the survey anonymously.
