The International Symposium on Online Journalism is an annual gathering of editors, producers, executives and academics from around the world who convene at the University of Texas at Austin to discuss the evolution of online journalism.

ISOJ started in 1999 as a small, but very intense one-day conference. It has grown throughout the years to become a unique international conference that serves as a barometer for the state of online journalism globally.






For the second time in its 22-year history, the International Symposium on Online Journalism will be online only in 2021. ISOJ Online will be held during the week of April 26 to 30, 2021.

ISOJ offers an empressive lineup of Speakers who will present and lead virutal workshops as part of a well thought out and amazing Program.

UNESCO will host an international conference in honor of World Press Freedom Day.


World Press Freedom Conference 2021


World Press Freedom Day remembers those who lost their lives in the pursuit of a story and calls for all governments to recognize the importance of a free and unhindered press.

This years conference will take place during the 30th anniversary of World Press Freedom Day and also the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration for the Development of a Free, Independent and Pluralistic Press, which was signed May 3 1991 in Windhoek, Nambia.

The event will host both in-person and virtual attendence and will host journalism professionals from all over the globe. Organizations and individuals can register for attendence using this link.
