The Governing Documents of the Fourth Estate Public Benefit Corporation consist of the Constitution, the Bylaws, the Core Journalism Principles, and other appendices.
The Constitution establishes the sovereignty of the Fourth Estate. It is composed of articles and amendments that enumerate the purpose, describe the structure, and establish the identity of the Fourth Estate.
The Bylaws define the roles, rights and obligations of our members, committees, directors and staff. The bylaws govern the process and procedures of our operation, and are intended to ensure fairness in all proceedings.
The Core Principles are guidelines for all of us — consumers of journalismm as well as its producers — in an evolving media landscape.
