Statement on Annapolis Capital Gazette Newsroom Shooting

“We are shocked and deeply saddened that anyone would seek to ruthlessly target members of the working press with deadly violence.  We send our very sincere condolences to the friends, co-workers, and especially to the families of those that were needlessly murdered and injured at the Annapolis Capital Gazette.” said Jeff Brown, Founder and Executive Director of the Fourth Estate Public Benefit Corp.

“This shooting comes just days after white nationalist extremist Milo Yiannopoulos called for the murder of journalists, and while the motive for this particular attack is not yet known, any violence against journalists should not and shall not be tolerated.” Brown added.
