Your membership makes possible the activities of a growing international organization that is advancing and advocating — on your behalf — for a strong free press, and for your right to trustworthy news and information. 

No matter who you are, you’re one of us.  Our members represent the entire news ecosystem, from consumers to producers. All member categories receive excellent benefits and valuable services, educational and networking opportunities and career services.

JOURNALIST MEMBER | $35/$55/$75/$95 *
This includes anyone working in any editorial capacity for a news outlet or organization that is supported by advertising, paid subscriptions, or funded by a non–profit organization.

EDUCATOR MEMBER | $35/$55/$75/$95 *
Individuals employed by a high schools, colleges or universities, and involved in instructing and advising on news and/or journalism for your institution’s curriculum. (i.e. teachers, professors, deans)

ADVOCATE / CONSUMER MEMBER | $5/$20/$30/$40 *
For individuals who believe in the Fourth Estate and are dedicated to our mission but are not working journalists or journalism educators.

STUDENT MEMBER | $0/$5/$10/$15/$25 **
For students residing anywhere in the world who are enrolled full-time in a certificate or degree-seeking program in journalism. Student membership is limited to five total years. Students using their .edu email address are eligible for complimentary membership.

HONORARY MEMBER
Honorary membership may be conferred for life upon the recommendation and action by the Fourth Estate Board of Directors or World Council.

ORGANIZATION MEMBERSHIPS
Organizational memberships signal a strong positive public statement about their values and is a cost-effective and easy way to leverage Fourth Estate benefits and resources for your organization. * Fourth Estate individual membership fees are based on the member country of residence. They have been set according to World Bank classifications based on per capita income. All fees will be calculated and paid in U.S. currency.

** Chapters, Divisions and Special Interest Group dues are not included in complimentary student membership.
